SSgt Warren Thompson; SSgt Robert Charles; SSgt William Voght; SSgt Louis Maenner; TSgt Merle Wilson; TSgt Richard May; 1LT Frank Krones (LT Krones eventually became the 64th Squadron Commander); 2LT Everett Rassiga; 2LT Donald Taustine; LT Frank Fizerro. S/Sgt William Voght's daughter, Louise, writes, "My guess, this photo was probably taken somewhere Stateside while they were in training; the aircraft in the background almost looks like it’s set there just for picture taking." S/Sgt Voght's daughter writes that
these are "the exact same names appear that appear on the back of the
photo (except Fizerro, who I think was injured while they were in
Australia enroute to New Guinea) – my Dad mentions in a letter that
they lost a LT to an injury and would likely have to replace him)."

Of the above V-mail, S/Sgt Voght's daughter writes, "I am including a V-Mail (img24.0) where my Dad tells some family friends that he and his crewmates came over on an aircraft named ‘Zombie’. So, logic would dictate that this crew was basically the original Zombie crew." |
