Cleatus Gale Pace was a cousin of mine and was the Flight Engineer/Top Turret Gunner and was severely wounded during a raid over Japan. The plane took a hit at the wing root just below his turret. He survived but took a 50 cal. wound in the left leg above the knee, took shrapnel in the face and chest. He lost three fingers on his left hand back to the first knuckle and was temporarily blind for about a month.

My dad was Leo W. Bloschock, 403rd Bomb Squadron Instrument Department, sergeant aboard the Argentina, discharged in 1945 as a Master Sergeant. I have a number of special things that I would be willing to share. Among these are a typewritten log of the Argentina's journey from Monday, January 18, 1942 through Friday February 26 (Australia)) and photographs. One of the photographs is of the Engineering Section. I also have a handwritten letter dated July 12, 1996 from Dean Bonsall (private aboard the Argentina) which was written to my stepsister after the death of my dad June 14, 1990.

For the last couple years have had this navigator's log book.The navigator's name was like Doyle or Dayle. The pilot was Amick. The plane was heavenly body #484 but he flew in other ones to.It has all the times and places they went with comments. I wish i could if was for real. My grandfather, Robert (Bob) Roth, flew with the 43rd. I have a picture of him in flight out the port side gunner opening, and another with his flight crew in front of the Flamin Mamie. I'll try to scan them and get it to the association. You are never forgotten.

My grandfather was with HQ 58th Air Service Group (5th AF). He was a passenger aboard the B-17E, "Queenie", when the plane was lost over Papua, New Guinea on 08 July 1944.

I would love to hear from anyone who was with HQ 58th Service Group, or any family of service members from this group. I have never seen a photograph of my grandfather. Hopefully, there are some old pics of the 58th floating around our there.
